We are having the worst freaking weather EVER here in France… I actually have never seen such a horrible month of May, it’s been so cold and raining almost everyday and it is just NOT POSSIBLE ANYMORE. If it doesn’t stop anytime soon, you are probably going to assist to the death of all French people due to massive depression and lack of sunshine… And I do not wish that to happen…
Besides, non stop rain is a real pain when it comes to life organization : I can’t get my dog out as much as I’d like, it ruins my hair as soon as I wash it, it deprives us all from entire days of Roland Garros matches, and mainly it prevents me to shoot what I need to shoot. Rain has always been my worst pet peeve as a photographer : besides keeping me from goint out as I’d like and dressing up as I’d want, the humidity and very weak light during the few minutes when it doesn’t rain are the worst conditions to take pictures. And don’t even get me started on my appartment, which is usually pretty bright but instantly transforms as a mortuary cave with this kind of weather… So we ended up taking these pictures during a 5 minutes rain break, I decided to go with a sailor outfit to stay in tune with this humid atmosphere…
Finally the weather here in Paris is nice enough for me to finally wear my perfect Sézane overalls and show it off around here ! Isn’t it just perfect for spring ?!
I don’t know if you’re familiar with the brand but here in France, it’s becoming hard to find a girl who is not completely obsessed with it. And each time they get a collection out, we are just sitting there drooling over everything, crying over the fact that our bank accounts are not extendable and that we can’t decently buy everything. But we still check it out because it is way too pretty to pass up, even though we are risking the fact that our heart will go boom for one piece and that we’ll just HAVE TO buy it (cuz it’s a matter of survival). And that’s what I did in February where they got their monthly collection out and I saw that overalls. I HAD TO buy it. So I did. It was on pre-sale but regarding the weather we had here at this time I knew I would not be wearing it for now so it was okay for me to wait. As long as it was mine.
Yet I guess my subconscious was in a real hurry to get my hands on that overalls because BOY did the time seem long between my order and the day I received it… So long I even started to doubt my instant crush. Before I even received it, I was already thinking about sending it back.
I finally received it, but couldn’t resist and had to try it on, just once. And that’s how Sezane works its magic. This overalls is just SO comfy, SO well cut, SO well finished, SO perfect… I just couldn’t send it back !
So here it is in action, and it’s guaranteed you’ll be seeing it some more around here because it is just way too perfect !
The other day I was telling you about my long quest for the perfect poncho that drove me to Primark on the first day of winter sales… I litterally blew a fuse there but at least I got out of there with my precious poncho that I’d been looking for almost everywhere…
And then 3 days after I unexpectedly poped out at Zara and stumbled upon this poncho, that ended up being pretty close to the Primark one with the colors. But it was like 50% off and looking like a true piece from the 70s that I love so much so I could not resist. In the end, this one looks way more to what I had in mind, the Primark one being more of a cape than an actual poncho (I don’t reject it though, and it was so hard getting my hands on it I’m certainly not going to spit on it !)
All of this to tell you that in 3 days time, my quest for the perfect poncho that took me at least 6 months ended up getting me from 0 to 2 ponchos. And I feel so great about that !
