First of all, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and have been covered with love and gifts ! As for me, I was with my in laws and I have been totally over spoiled… And I still haven’t celebrated with my own family… I’ll show you all of this around here really soon !
In the mean time, I’m completely worn out by this family marathon, and the festivities are far from being over, because New Year’s Eve is in 3 days…
As I told you the other day in my party make up video, end of the year holidays are for me the best moment to look my best, so today I really wanted to offer you guys two different New Year’s Eve outfits that are both chic and comfortable so you’ll be able to shine on the dancefloor until the end of the night ! The first outfit is more casual, for a diner between friends for instance, and the second one is a bit more festive for a more formal evening ! Here it is 😉
Regarding my hair length, these pictures were taken a while ago, actually 4 to 5 months ago. But with the weather we’re having lately in Paris, I’d rather post an outfit featuring a yellow oilskin than something wearing flowery shorts, right ?!
Actually, this yellow oilskin has been my best friend for three days, I have no idea how I would have managed without him ! I can’t believe I even hesitated to buy it last season, I have absolutely no regret, especially when I have to walk Joey a 10pm under a pouring rain !
To be honest, I was kinda scared of the color that’s far from being discret (especially when everything is grey around, the bright yellow kinda pops to your eyes y’know ?!) et let’s face it, really childish (I often find myself in the street next to a 5 year old kid wearing the exact same oilskin !). But in the end, every time I wear it it ends up being a success and taking up all the conversation (isn’t it cool ?! yeah, I love it ! and it’s super when it rains ! and it wasn’t that expensive ! best buy ever ! yeah, I’ll buy one for myself too ! oh cool ! and so on…) so I guess it wasn’t such a bad decision after all. And in the end, only my opinion matters, and I really do love it !
And then again, when it rains, I’m absolutely ready to do everything to avoid getting wet, even go out with a poncho made of garbage bag (well actually, it’s been done… yay, I’m that desperate) so to my opinion, a lovely yellow oilsking even ends up looking really classy !
I’ve always been fascinated by deserts. I’ve seen quite a few since I’m a kid, in South America or North Africa especially, where I traveled when I was a kid. But my fascination for desert really comes from westerns… As a kid, my parents used to show me tons of them. My hero was Clint Eastwood, without any hesitation. The movies from my childhood are Pale Rider, High Plains Drifter, For a Few Dollars More or Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid (without Clint though, but still really awesome !). I could watch them in a row, I was just fascinated by the landscapes, the loyalty and bandits stories, the horses running like crazy in those big dusty plains, and Clint Eastwood of course, whom I’m in love with since I’m like 5… I can completely picture myself sitting in the deserted pub of my parents friend with my brother, obsessed by the finale scene from A Fistful of Dollars, waiting to see who from Joe and Ramon was going to die. So yeah, westerns are really dear to my heart, there was even a time when I always received new DVDs for Christmas, and I was so happy to discover new movies !
So, when I learned about the Bardenas Reales desert in Spain, 2 hours away from the French border and where all the westerns that are lacking budget for the US are being shot, I got crazy and planned our little road trip in a day. It was two weeks ago, and it’s one of the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen ! Of course, we had to shoot an outfit there, the landscape was way too beautiful too pass up ! So here it is today, with a little foretaste of the place, because I’ll be back on thursday with a vlog, lots of pictures and many good places to see there ! I hope it’ll make you want to go and check this place yourself !
